Quantitative chemical analyses of rocks with X-ray fluorescence analyzer: (1) Major elements

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1995
Analytical procedures for major elements in rocks (Si, Ti, Al, Fe, Mn, Mg, Ca, Na, K, P), using a newly installed X-ray fluorescence analyzer (RIGAKURIX3000) at the National Institute of Polar Research, are summarized.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Infinitesimal adjunction and polar curves [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Brazilian Mathematical Society, New Series, 2009
The polar curves of foliations $\mathcal F$ having a curve $C$ of separatrices generalize the classical polar curves associated to hamiltonian foliations of $C$. As in the classical theory, the equisingularity type ${\wp}({\mathcal F})$ of a generic polar curve depends on the analytical type of ${\mathcal F}$, and hence of $C$.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Polars of real singular curves

open access: yes, 2008
Polar varieties have in recent years been used by Bank, Giusti, Heintz, Mbakop, and Pardo, and by Safey El Din and Schost, to find efficient procedures for determining points on all real components of a given non-singular algebraic variety. In this note we review the classical notion of polars and polar varieties, as well as the construction of what we

Jacobian and polar curves of singular foliations [PDF]

open access: yes
In this survey we describe results concerning topological properties of polar and jacobian curves of foliations. We also describe how invariants defined from polar or jacobian curves can be used to characterize generalized curve foliations or second type

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
