Full Vectorial Field Sensing Using Liquid Crystal Droplet Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 39, 13 July 2026.
An inkjet‐printed liquid crystal droplet array enables compact, low‐cost, single‐shot sensing of the full vectorial light field. Within a single platform, it simultaneously retrieves intensity, polarization, and phase, while dual‐wavelength operation highlights its capability for multi‐wavelength optical field characterization. ABSTRACT Determining the

Synchrophasotron and Nuclotron Equipment for Investigation of Polarization Phenomena

open access: yesNatural Science Review
The development of the unique cryogenic source of polarized deuterons, POLARIS, in the late 1970s was very fruitful and significantly enhanced JINR’s instrumental base for studies of nucleon-nucleon interactions as well as interactions of lightest nuclei

Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$ polarimetry using the dominant hadronic mode

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The polarimeter vector field for multibody decays of a spin-half baryon is introduced as a generalisation of the baryon asymmetry parameters. Using a recent amplitude analysis of the Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$ → pK − π + decay performed at the LHCb ...

Highly Anisotropic Quasi‐Direct Organic Metal Halide Hybrids: A Platform for Polarization‐Sensitive Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Large Faraday Rotation in Liquid Crystals With Embedded Paramagnetic Ions (Cu2+, VO2+) at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 28, 24 July 2026.
Large Faraday rotation at room temperature is observed in thin films of discotic copper (Cu2+: 3d9) and vanadyl (VO2+: 3d1) enaminoketone complexes. The large Verdet constant originates from a high density of paramagnetic centers, metal‐ligand p−d hybridization and π orbitals involved in optical transitions (identified by DFT calculations), as well as ...

Observation of Cosmic Microwave Background Polarization with BICEP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization (BICEP) is a bolometric polarimeter that has been optimized to target the B-mode of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization at degree angular scales, which is a sensitive probe of the ...

Initial On-Orbit Performance Assessments of the Compact Ocean Wind Vector Radiometer

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The compact ocean wind vector radiometer (COWVR) is the first space-based radiometer to utilize electronic polarization basis rotation to measure a swath of polarimetric brightness temperatures without the need to scan the receiver electronics. The COWVR

Chip‐Integrated Metasurface‐GaAsSb Nanowire Array Photodetectors for Single‐Pixel Polarimetric Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 25, 3 July 2026.
A 2×2 multiplexed GaAsSb nanowire photodetector array integrated with L‐shaped metasurfaces is developed for miniaturized infrared polarimetry. Leveraging non‐radiating anapole states that facilitate near‐field enhancement, the device demonstrates strong polarization selectivity at 835 nm.
