Airborne polarimetric SAR interferometry
IGARSS '98. Sensing and Managing the Environment. 1998 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing. Symposium Proceedings. (Cat. No.98CH36174), 1998The authors show for first time the applicability of polarimetric interferometry techniques on high resolution interferometric scattering matrix airborne data. They point out the main requirements considering system hardware as well as data processing and calibration algorithms which are important for the polarimetric interferometric data evaluation ...

Polarimetric SAR interferometry
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1998The authors examine the role of polarimetry in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry. They first propose a general formulation for vector wave interferometry that includes conventional scalar interferometry as a special case. Then, they show how polarimetric basis transformations can be introduced into SAR interferometry and applied to form ...

Single-baseline polarimetric SAR interferometry
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2001Examines the application of single-baseline polarimetric SAR interferometry to the remote sensing and measurement of structure over forested terrain. For this, a polarimetric coherent scattering model for vegetation cover suitable for the estimation of forest parameters from interferometric observables is introduced, discussed and validated.

Polarimetric SAR Image Factorization
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2017This paper reformulates the problem of polarimetric incoherent target decomposition as a general image factorization which aims to simultaneously estimate a dictionary of meaningful atom scatterers and their corresponding spatial distribution maps.

Coherence optimisation in polarimetric SAR interferometry
IGARSS'97. 1997 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium Proceedings. Remote Sensing - A Scientific Vision for Sustainable Development, 2002The authors outline a general formulation for vector wave interferometry and then solve the optimisation problem involving maximisation of phase. In this way the authors are able to show that wave polarisation effects play an important role in the extraction of information from radar interferograms.

SAR polarimetric features of agricultural areas
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1995The potential of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) in monitoring soil and vegetation parameters is being evaluated worldwide through extensive investigations. A significant experiment performed on this subject was the Multi-sensor Airborne Campaign (MAC 91), carried out during the northern summer of 1991 on several sites in Europe, based on the NASA/JPL ...

Modified polarimetric whitening filter for polarimetric SAR data
2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013To preserve the power information in the output of polarimetric whitening filter (PWF), a modified PWF is proposed for polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) imagery. Besides minimizing the standard deviation to mean ratio, the modified PWF also requires its output closest to the original polarimetric vector in a minimum mean-square error sense.

Polarimetric SAR image classification employing subaperture polarimetric analysis
Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005Polarimetric SAR image classification remains an important research area. Various methods continue to be developed for specific applications. High-resolution polarimetric SAR systems and advances in computational and data storage capabilities have revived interest in novel polarimetric analysis techniques.

Polarimetric SAR stereo using Pi-SAR square loop path
Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005This paper shows first results of polarimetric SAR stereo applied to urban areas. SAR stereo is known as a useful technique for three-dimensional mapping. Until now many approaches and results have been reported, based on single polarization measurements. But stereogrammetry has not been used with polarimetric information.
