Eigenvector analysis of polarimetric SAR data

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
Fully polarimetric SAR data analysis has found wide application for terrain classification, land-use, soil moisture and ground cover classification. New methods and algorithms continue to be developed and tested. One method that has gained great popularity is the Cloude-Pottier eigenvalue/eigenvector decomposition of coherency matrices (Cloude and ...

Polarimetric SAR tomography with SVD-Wiener

2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013
In this paper, we propose a polarimetric TomoSAR method with Wiener-SVD inversion and Gerschgorin Disks for different scattering mechanisms of each point. Seven images of RADARSAT-2 Fine Quad Mode have been used to validate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Rain effect on polarimetric SAR observation

2010 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2010
The purpose of this paper is to consider the radip wave propagation of Plarimetric SAR in rain and to verify the influence of rain quantitatively. We assume the Polarimetric SAR observation model in non-spherical rain drop environments and 13.9GHz by calculating the rain distortion matrix with parameters of rainfal rate and the rain drop canting angle.

Three-component decomposition for polarimetric SAR

2009 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2009
An improved three-component decomposition for polarimetric SAR data is proposed in this paper. The reasons of the emergence of negative powers in the Freeman decomposition have been analyzed, and two improvements are included. Firstly, the deorientation process is applied to the coherency matrix before it is decomposed into three scattering components.

Target decomposition in polarimetric interferometric SAR

2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
We presented two target decomposition methods for polarimetric interferometric SAR (PolInSAR) images parallel to the eigen-decomposition and scattering power decomposition for polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) images. For both cases, we showed the importance of PolInSAR coherence estimation, and in particular, the newly proposed best normal matrix ...

A Study on Polarimetric Correlation Coefficient for Feature Extraction of Polarimetric SAR Data

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005
This paper attempts to use the polarimetric correlation coefficient for extraction of the polarimetric features of the urban areas and the natural distributed areas from Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (POLSAR) data. There is a possibility that the polarimetric correlation coefficient can reveal various scattering mechanisms of terrains based on ...

Polarimetric Coherence Optimization as a Multidimensional Polarimetric SAR Signal Processing Tool

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
This paper summarizes a set of studies led on the topic of polarimetric coherence optimization for the coherent processing of stacks of polarimetric SAR images. It is shown that coherence maximization may be understood differently depending on the application at hand.

Inversion of surface parameters from polarimetric SAR

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2003
Proposes a new model for the inversion of surface roughness and soil moisture from polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, based on the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the polarimetric coherency matrix. It demonstrates how three polarimetric parameters, namely the scattering entropy (H), the scattering anisotropy (A), and the alpha angle ...

Classification and interpretation of polarimetric interferometric SAR data

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
In this paper is introduced an approach to the classification and interpretation of SAR data using the complementary polarimetric and interferometric information. An unsupervised polarimetric segmentation is applied to one of the separate interferometric dataset.
