Comparison of Compact Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Modes

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2009
Compact polarimetry is a technique that allows construction of pseudo quad-pol information from dual-polarization synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. Compact polarimetry showed promise of being able to reduce the complexity, cost, mass, and data rate of a SAR system while attempting to maintain many capabilities of a fully polarimetric system.

Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging With Radially Polarized Antennas

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2020
A polarimetric 3-D synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging method using a radially polarized antenna is described. The advantages of the radially polarized antenna, mainly that polarimetric SAR imaging can be performed without requiring additional measurements compared to traditional SAR, are discussed.

Polarimetric Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar

2021
Polarimetric Interferometry SAR (PolInSAR) is a new earth observation technology developed on the basis of polarimetric SAR and interferometric SAR technology [1]. It uses the effective combination of polarization and interference information to obtain three-dimensional structural feature information and scattering information of the observation object.

Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar imaging

International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, 1992
AbstractMIT Lincoln Laboratory in investigating the detection and identification of stationary ground targets in high resolution, fully polarimetric, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery. This article (1) provides a brief description of the Lincoln Laboratory SAR, (2) describes an optimum polarimetric processing technique used to construct minimum ...

Analysis of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Image

2021
This chapter illustrates the basic analysis methods of fully polarimetric SAR data using the example data from the San Francisco Region, which is collected by the JPL Lab CV-990 Airborne SAR system. The data mainly covers three types of ground object, including ocean, city, and vegetation, in addition to the metal scatters of Golden Gate Bridge.
