Compact polarimetric synthetic aperture radar for monitoring crop condition
2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017Adoption of optical vegetation indices for local, national, and global crop condition monitoring is wide spread. Given that cloud cover impedes acquisition of these data, this research examines whether Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), specifically a compact polarimetric (CP) configuration, could augment these operational initiatives.

Enhanced Processing of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Images
2021Polarization synthesis technology plays an important role in polar SAR image processing. The polarization synthesis technique can be used to calculate the echo power of any combination of the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna from the polarization scattering matrix of the target.

Compression of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Data — Abstract
Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2003The paper deals with proposition and evaluation of new and specific methods to represent vector radar data acquired by means a side-looking measurement in order to use compression process of Lind, Buzo, Gray (LBG), and Kohonen's self organizing feature maps of topology.

Development of a ground-based, polarimetric synthetic aperture radar
1996 IEEE Aerospace Applications Conference. Proceedings, 2002A description of an indoor SAR measurement facility is given and a series of results is presented to demonstrate the imaging properties of the system. The aim of the work is to understand better the microwave backscatter characteristics of vegetation and soils. Based around a vector network analyser, the system uses synthetic pulse techniques to obtain

Ground-Based Bistatic Polarimetric Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar System
IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019A novel ground-based bistatic polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system using an Optical Electric Field Sensor (OEFS) as the receiver was developed for environmental studies. Fundamental experiments were carried out with a trihedral corner reflector (CR) as a target, showing the polarimetric capability of the system.

Information content of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar data
2010Research into the analysis of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data continues to reveal new applications and data extraction techniques. The objective of this thesis is to examine the information content of a quad-polarization SAR, and determine which polarimetric variables are most useful for classification purposes.
