Sub-200 fs Polarization-Maintaining All-Fiber Thulium-Doped Dissipative Soliton Fiber Laser System at 1920 nm

open access: yesPhotonics
A polarization-maintaining all-fiber laser source based on a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror with broadband operation (64 nm) around 1920 nm is demonstrated. The oscillator can generate 66 pJ up-chirped dissipative soliton pulses at a repetition rate of

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

All Polarization-Maintaining Passively Mode-Locked Yb-Doped Fiber Laser: Pulse Compression Using an Anomalous Polarization-Maintaining Photonic Crystal Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
We report the generation of short pulses at 1 μm using an all-polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber configuration. The pulses are provided by an all normal-dispersion Fabry-Perot Yb-doped cavity and are compressed with an anomalous polarization ...

Compact Surface Plasmon Resonance IgG Sensor Based on H-Shaped Optical Fiber

open access: yesBiosensors, 2022
A compact surface plasmon resonance sensor based on an H-shaped optical fiber is proposed and demonstrated. The H-shaped optical fiber was fabricated experimentally by using hydrofluoric acid to controllably corrode the polarization-maintaining fiber.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

High-Resolution Distributed Dispersion Characterization for Polarization Maintaining Fibers Based on a Closed-Loop Measurement Framework

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
A closed-loop dispersion measurement framework (CLDM) is proposed. Carrying out dispersion compensation with an arbitrary trial dispersion on the interferogram under test, and using a criterion function as feedback to adjust the trial dispersion until ...

Noise-Like Pulse Generation Using Polarization Maintaining Mode-Locked Thulium-Doped Fiber Laser With Nonlinear Amplifying Loop Mirror

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
We investigate noise-like pulse (NLP) generation in a mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser with nonlinear amplifying loop mirror (NALM) and different net anomalous dispersions.

The heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HAT) of the SLC7/SLC3 family: A structure−function relationships and relevance to human pathology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.
