PANDA Type Four-Core Fiber With the Efficient Use of Stress Rods

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
We design a panda type four-core fiber with a comparable optical property of the polarization maintenance single mode fiber (PM-SMF) and can support 8 non-polarization-degenerate eigenmodes with a birefringence of approximate 3.24 ×  ...

High Sensitivity Vibration Sensor Based on Polarization Maintaining Micro Fiber

open access: yesNantong Daxue xuebao. Ziran kexue ban, 2021
A high sensitivity vibration sensor based on polarization-maintaining microfiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MMZI) is studied. By using the fused taper technology, the polarization-maintaining fiber is tapered into a polarization-maintaining-non ...

High Sensitivity Temperature Sensor Based on Harmonic Vernier Effect

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2023
A high-sensitivity temperature sensor based on the harmonic Vernier effect is proposed and verified by experiments. The main component of the sensor is a Sagnac interferometer consisting of two sections of polarization maintaining fibers (PMFs) spliced ...

Self-referenced frequency comb from a polarization-maintaining Er: Fiber laser based nonlinear polarization evolution

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
To the best of our knowledge, this paper presents the first self-referenced polarization-maintaining (PM) Er: nonlinear polarization evolution-based fiber frequency comb.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Study on Transmission and Output Polarization Characteristics of a First-Order Lyot-Type Fiber Comb Filter Using Polarization-Diversity Loop

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
A first-order Lyot-type fiber comb filter was fabricated by incorporating a polarization-diversity loop structure composed of a polarization beam splitter, two half-wave plates (HWPs), and two polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) segments. One of the two

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Watt-level polarization-maintaining Er3+: ZBLAN fiber laser tunable from 3.4 μm to 3.7 μm

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications
We demonstrate a linearly polarized Er3+: ZBLAN fiber laser in the dual wavelength pumping scheme for laser emission in the 3400–3700 nm spectral band. The laser is based on a polarization-maintaining heavily erbium-doped ZBLAN fiber dually pumped at 976

Nonlinear polarization evolution of ultrashort pulses in polarization maintaining fibers. [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We examine properties of an ultrashort laser pulse propagating through an artificial Saturable Absorber based on Nonlinear Polarization Evolution device which has been realized with Polarization Maintaining fibers only (PM NPE).

Components and tools for polarization‐maintaining fiber optics [PDF]

open access: yesLaser Technik Journal, 2012
AbstractFiber cables open up new vistas for the design of modular devices and compact setups for industrial and scientific applications. Special fibers, such as polarization‐maintaining singlemode fibers, are predestined for use in complex, self‐contained setups, increasing laser safety by reducing the laser safety classification.
