Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Polarization-Insensitive Silicon Photonic Variable Optical Attenuator
We propose and demonstrate a polarization-insensitive silicon photonic variable optical attenuator. The designed device uses a two-dimensional apodized grating coupler as a surface-normal coupling interface, which has the advantages of low-cost fiber ...

Interference usually occurs between two non-orthogonally polarized light beams. Hence, metasurface enabled polarization multiplexing is generally conducted under two orthogonal polarization states to realize independent intensity and/or phase modulations.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

A Hybrid-Plasmonic-Waveguide-Based Polarization-Independent Directional Coupler
In optical interconnection field, inconsistent coupling behaviors of TE and TM modes may cause abnormal operation. Therefore, it is very significant to implement a polarization-independent directional coupler.
