Optical characterization of a polarization imager
2011 IEEE International Symposium of Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2011Polarization is a fundamental property of light for which humans have no innate detector. Numerous sensors have been devised to capture this property of light. Of these types of sensors, division of focal plane polarimeters allow for both high resolution and real-time capture of the angle and degree of polarization.

Applied Optics, 1986The design of an optical logic parallel processor is described. The central component is a Fabry-Perot cavity, filled with a nonlinear layer and a linear anisotropic layer, such as a sheet of mica. The two logic states are represented by two orthogonal states of the polarization of the light beam.
