Proposal for a simple polarization converter based on integrated optical ion exchanged waveguide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A simple, compact, low-cost electro-optic polarization converter based on a nematic liquid crystal (LC) sandwiched between two ion-exchanged glass channel waveguides is proposed.

Observation of Cosmic Microwave Background Polarization with BICEP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization (BICEP) is a bolometric polarimeter that has been optimized to target the B-mode of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization at degree angular scales, which is a sensitive probe of the ...

Sub-micrometre accurate free-form optics by three-dimensional printing on single-mode fibres

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Combining freeform optics with micro- and nano-optics can permit wavefront shaping, phase engineering, k-space and polarization control. Here, Gissibl et al.

Polarization and intensity correlations in stochastic electromagnetic beams upon interaction with devices of polarization optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Based on the recently formulated unified theory of coherence and polarization of light, we explore the behavior of the intensity–intensity correlations and the auxiliary quantity called the degree of cross-polarization in stochastic electromagnetic beams

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Reaching the efficiency limit of arbitrary polarization transformation with non-orthogonal metasurfaces

open access: yesNature Communications
Polarization transformation is at the foundation of modern applications in photonics and quantum optics. Notwithstanding their applicative interests, basic theoretical and experimental efforts are still needed to exploit the full potential of ...

Spin‐Decoupled Transflective Spatial Light Modulations Enabled by a Piecewise‐Twisted Anisotropic Monolayer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
Wavefront control lies at the heart of modern optics. Metasurfaces with specifically tailored resonators can encode different phases to two orthogonal polarization components, but suffer from wavelength‐dependent efficiency, sophisticated fabrication ...
