Recent Advances in Photoalignment Liquid Crystal Polarization Gratings and Their Applications
Liquid crystal (LC) circular polarization gratings (PGs), also known as Pancharatnam–Berry (PB) phase deflectors, are diffractive waveplates with linearly changed optical anisotropy axes.

Optical production of ultracold polar molecules [PDF]
We demonstrate the production of ultracold polar RbCs molecules in their vibronic ground state, via photoassociation of laser-cooled atoms followed by a laser-stimulated state transfer process. The resulting sample of $X ^1Σ^+ (v=0)$ molecules has a translational temperature of $\sim100 μ$K and a narrow distribution of rotational states.

Photonic circuits for generating modal, spectral, and polarization entanglement [PDF]
We consider the design of photonic circuits that make use of Ti:LiNbO(3) diffused channel waveguides to generate photons with various combinations of modal, spectral, and polarization entanglement.

Magneto-optical Trap for Polar Molecules [PDF]
We propose a method for laser cooling and trapping a substantial class of polar molecules, and in particular titanium (II) oxide (TiO). This method uses pulsed electric fields to nonadiabatically remix the ground-state magnetic sublevels of the molecule, allowing us to build a magneto-optical trap (MOT) based on a quasi-cycling $J'=J"-1$ transition ...

Minimization of spin tune spread for preservation of spin polarization at RHIC
The spin structure of the proton is one of the unsolved problems in physics. The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) Spin Physics Program has been conducting research to investigate the spin structure by colliding high energy polarized proton beams ...

Quantum Optics in Nanostructures
This review is devoted to the study of effects of quantum optics in nanostructures. The mechanisms by which the rates of radiative and nonradiative decay are modified are considered in the model of a two-level quantum emitter (QE) near a plasmonic ...
