Singularity index and orbital angular momentum of a beam with a hybrid polarization singularity
Alongside scalar optical vortex beams, which have a topological charge (TC), a spiral wave front and carry an orbital angular momentum (OAM) that can be transferred to microparticles and rotate them along circular trajectories, polarization optical ...

Polchinski-Strassler does not uplift Klebanov-Strassler
Anti-D3-branes at the tip of the Klebanov-Strassler solution with D3-charge dissolved in fluxes give rise, in the probe approximation, to a metastable state. The fully back-reacted smeared solution has singular three-form fluxes in the IR, whose presence

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Charge response function and a novel plasmon mode in graphene
Polarizability of non-interacting 2D Dirac electrons has a 1/\sqrt{qv-\omega} singularity at the boundary of electron-hole excitations. The screening of this singularity by long-range electron-electron interactions is usually treated within the random ...

Observation of Polarization Singularities at the Nanoscale
With a phase-sensitive near-field microscope we measure independently the two in-plane electric field components of light propagating through a 2D photonic crystal waveguide and the phase difference between them. Consequently, we are able to reconstruct the electric vector field distribution with subwavelength resolution.

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Vacuum Polarization on the Schwarzschild Metric with a Cosmic String [PDF]
We consider the problem of the renormalization of the vacuum polarization in a symmetry space-time with axial but not spherical symmetry, Schwarzschild space-time threaded by an infinite straight cosmic string. Unlike previous calculations, our framework

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

We propose quantum states for Little String Theories (LSTs) arising from M5 branes probing A- and D-type singularities. This extends Witten's picture of M5 brane partition functions as theta functions to this more general setup.
