Spin angular momentum density in the tight focus of a light field with phase and polarization singularities [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2019
For a light field with both phase and polarization singularities at its center, expressions are obtained that describe the distribution of the spin angular momentum (SAM) density in the sharp focal spot of an aplanatic system.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Polarization singularities of biological tissues images

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Optics, 2006
The ways to the polarization singularities of the biological tissues images of various morphological structures have been theoretically analyzed. The coordinate distributions of singly (linear states of polarization) and doubly degenerated (circular states of polarization) polarization singularities of the physiologically normal and pathologically ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Tachyonic Anti-M2 Branes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study the dynamics of anti-M2 branes in a warped Stenzel solution with M2 charges dissolved in fluxes by taking into account their full backreaction on the geometry.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Experimental demonstration of cylindrical vector spatiotemporal optical vortex

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
We experimentally generate cylindrically polarized wavepackets with transverse orbital angular momentum, demonstrating the coexistence of spatiotemporal optical vortex with spatial polarization singularity.
