Identification and Characterization of a Novel Biallelic SLC12A2 Variant Associated With Kilquist Syndrome (OMIM #619080)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 197, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study presents the case of a child with multiple congenital anomalies, severe hypotonia, and profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Functional bioenergetic assessments showed no significant mitochondrial respiratory defects, and riboflavin (Rf) status evaluation excluded a deficiency in Rf transporters as a cause of hearing loss ...

The Roles of Carbon‐Nitrogen Synergy and Phosphate Regulation in Producing Higher Yield of Vancomycin by Amycolatopsis orientalis

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
Systematic media optimization in Amycolatopsis orientalis identified maltodextrin, soy‐based nitrogen sources, and phosphate regulation as key drivers of vancomycin yield. Knockout and feeding trials demonstrated essential nutrient roles, offering a cost‐effective, scalable strategy for enhanced antibiotic production.

Biochemical Pathways for n‐Type Doping: An Electron Transfer Relay from Saccharide to Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 49, December 10, 2025.
Inspired by biological electron transfer relays, a system is designed where electrons move from fructose to flavin mononucleotide and then to an organic semiconductor. While ambient n‐type doping is previously difficult, combining this relay with a stable dopant cation resolved the issue.

Electrochemical Studies of the Inhibition and Activation Effects of Al (III) on the Activity of Bovine Liver Glutamate Dehydrogenase

open access: yesSensors, 2005
Since the study of Al3+ ion on the enzyme activity by using of electrochemical techniques was rarely found in available literatures, the differential-pulse polarography (DPP) technique was applied to study the effects of Al3+ ion on the glutamate ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Ytterbium Trichloride in Oxygenated Organic Solvents

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 21, November 3, 2025.
Electrochemical reduction of ytterbium to the divalent state is investigated in three oxygenated solvents: dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N‐dimethyl formamide, and ethylene glycol. Small concentrations of water are found to have an effect on each system. Linear sweep voltammetry on a rotating disk electrode is used to determine kinetic parameters in each ...

Electroreductive Decomplexation and Isomerism of Copper(II) Complexes with Cyclam Ligands for Medical Use

open access: yesChemElectroChem
Detailed electrochemical study of copper(II) complexes of cyclam bearing two phosphonate (TE2P), phenolate (TE2PhOH) or carboxylate (TE2A) pendant arms (together with one cross‐bridged‐cyclam derivative cb‐TE2A) was performed using cyclic voltammetry (CV)

Interactions Between Active Matters and Endogenous Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 45, November 13, 2025.
This review synthesizes endogenous field information and computational methods in contexts such as cancer, wounds, and biofilms. It organizes NAMs and AAMs by sensing, transmitting, and executing functions, compares their limitations, and from these contrasts proposes design strategies for next‐generation AAMs, offering perspectives to foster ...
