Validation of a Sensor System Solution for Process Monitoring in Robot Assisted Polishing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It was validated the possible correlation between hidden process variables (AE, force, power consumption) and the vital quality characteristic (roughness) for robot assisted flat polishing with diamond paste.\nIt was also validated the possibility of in ...

Study on Precision Polishing of a Mini Roller Mold

open access: yes, 2011
100學年度研究獎補助論文This research aimed to design and develop a polishing system for precision polishing mini roller mold to nanometer surface finish. An experimental polishing system was built in the present study to polish nickel plated specimens with various

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Uniform Coverage Trajectory Planning for Polishing of Equation-Free Surfaces

open access: yesMachines
Conventional surface polishing trajectory generation relies on solving the plane trajectory equation in conjunction with the surface equation to obtain a surface polishing trajectory when the surface equation is known.

Material removal efficiency improvement by orientation control of CMP pad surface asperities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents a novel method of improving material removal efficiency in the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process by optimizing the surface asperity orientation with respect to polishing motion.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
