ABSTRACT Of the three types of cytoskeleton known in animals—actin, microtubules, and intermediate filaments—only actin and microtubules exist in plants. Both play important roles in cellular shaping, organelle movement, organization of the endomembrane system, and cell signaling.

Reproductive abnormalities in interspecific crosses involving Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium arboreum [PDF]
A successful cross fertilization involving two different species implies that a chain of reproductive process takes placeunhampered after pollination. The coordination and interaction between genes or gene complexes in the pollen parent andmatching gene ...

ABSTRACT Pollen is a male gametophyte of angiosperms. Following meiosis, the microspore undergoes an asymmetric division called pollen mitosis I (PMI), which produces two cells of different sizes: a large vegetative cell and a small generative cell. Polarized nuclear migration and positioning during PMI are important for successful pollen development ...

Abstract Honeybees (Apis mellifera L.) are an important class of insects that are the most beneficial in terms of economy. Beeswax is the second most important bee products after honey. Its commercial importance is due to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory and antiseptic as well as regenerative properties.

Warming caused a significant decrease in monarch fat mass, likely due to an observed reduction in sucrose concentration caused by warming of the nectar. Since sucrose fuels fall migration and overwintering, our results suggest climate warming may reduce migration success and overwinter survival.

2, 6-Dichlorobenzonitrile causes multiple effects on pollen tube growth beyond altering cellulose synthesis in Pinus bungeana Zucc. [PDF]
Cellulose is an important component of cell wall, yet its location and function in pollen tubes remain speculative. In this paper, we studied the role of cellulose synthesis in pollen tube elongation in Pinus bungeana Zucc.

Abstract Background Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) is a widely cultivated vegetable and aromatic‐medicinal plant. In this research, field studies assessed 12 fennel genotypes of diverse origin, comprising 10 Greek accessions and two European commercial varieties, focusing on their morpho‐agronomical traits, phenolic compounds and antioxidant ...
