Physicochemical studies of pectin/poly-l-lysine gelation
Carbohydrate Research, 2004The effect of poly-L-lysine concentration and degree of polymerisation on the gelation of pectins differing in charge density and distribution was examined, through the determination of gel stiffness, swelling behaviour and the binding of poly-L-lysine to the gel network.

Novel poly(L-lysine) particles for gene delivery
Journal of Controlled Release, 2011Summary In this work, we designed replica particles based on poly(L-lysine) (PLL) polymers crosslinked via a homobifunctional linker to support coadsorption of a plasmid DNA and a peptide hormone for concurrent transfection and induction of a cellular function. PLL replica particles (PLL RP ) were prepared. Based on this PLL RP gene delivery system,

Acetonitrile-induced conformational transitions in poly-l-lysine
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 1997The effect of acetonitrile on the random coil, alpha-helix and beta-sheet conformations induced in poly-L-lysine is studied. It is found that acetonitrile at higher concentrations transforms the backbone of polylysine from a random coil to a helical conformation.

Localization of poly-l-lysine—photosensitizer conjugate in nucleus
Journal of Controlled Release, 2005The cellular uptake and photocytotoxity of poly-l-lysine (pL)-chlorin e6 (Ce6) conjugate were investigated. The cellularuptake of pL-Ce6 conjugate for HeLa cells was much higher than that of Ce6, and pL-Ce6 conjugate had high binding affinityfor HeLa cells. pL-Ce6 conjugate was accumulated in the nucleus of HeLa cells, and the effective photocytotoxity

PEGylated-poly-l-lysine dendrimers for delivery of chloroquine phosphate
Proceedings. 2004 International Conference on MEMS, NANO and Smart Systems, 2004. ICMENS 2004., 2004The antimalarial drugs are used for prophylactic suppressive chemotherapy of malaria but various toxicity and resistance problems associated with such chemotherapy need some sustained delivery and safer carriers. Dendrimers are recently reported as carriers for various chemotherapeutic agents.

Phase Separation of Carboxylated Poly-L-lysine
MRS Proceedings, 2014ABSTRACTStimuli-responsive materials are capable of reversibly altering their properties depending on the environmental conditions or external stimuli. External stimuli typically include thermal, pH, electric fields, optical, magnetic fields, mechanical forces and chemical interactions.

Poly(L-Lysine) Adsorption to Fluoropolymer Films
MRS Proceedings, 1990AbstractThe adsorption of poly(l-lysine) (PLL) from aqueous solution to poly(tetrafluoroethylene-co-hexafluoropropylene) (FEP) is investigated. Adsorption is controlled by choice of solvent (and PLL solution conformation) or by FEP surface chemistry.

Adsorption of poly-l-lysine to mica powder
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1989Abstract Poly- l -lysine adsorbs with high affinity to mica powder. Saturation coverages were determined at different [NaCl]s, pH's, and molecular weights; electrokinetic measurements were also made on the mica. Increasing [NaCl] from 1 m M to 1 M decreased adsorption slightly, probably due to competition between Na + and the ϵ-amino groups on ...

The ability of the synthetic cationic polypeptide poly-L-lysine (PLL) to induce differentiation of Friend murine erythroleukemia cells was examined with the use of polymers of different molecular weights. Like other membrane-interacting agents (polar solvents), all the polymers tested were effective in inducing cell differentiation.
