Molecular characterization of poly(3-hexylthiophene)

Macromolecules, 1991
The dependence of the intrinsic viscosity and the radius of gyration upon molecular weight M w (40000-220000) for poly(3-hexylthiophene) in THF dilute solution was found to be characteristic of a moderately good solvent. Similar solution characteristics were observed in CHCl 3 .

Origin of Photocurrent in Poly(3-hexylthiophene)

Synthetic Metals, 1999
Abstract We have measured the steady state (SS) and pulsed photoconductive response in Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) in order to clarify the origin of the photocurrent in P3HT sandwiched between indiumtin oxide and aluminum (Al) electrodes.

Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Adhesion on Zinc Oxide Nanoneedles

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2011
We study the interface between poly(3-hexylthiophene) and wurtzite ZnO nanoneedles by molecular dynamics simulation. We provide evidence that the polymer is easily adsorbed on the nanostructured surface with the largest binding energy found when the chain is aligned to the needle axis. Helically wrapped polymer configurations are nevertheless possible,

Progress in the Synthesis of Poly (3-hexylthiophene)

2014
Polythiophene synthesis has undergone a multitude of changes, starting from the initial methods of acid-catalyzed polymerizations with low yields of oligomeric polythiophenes to modern methods using transition metal-based catalysts that allow controlled synthesis of poly(alkylthiophene)s with high molecular weight and regioregularity.

Electrochromic Diffraction from Nanopatterned Poly(3-hexylthiophene)

ACS Nano, 2010
Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) films were patterned by a soft lithography technique using a nanopatterned polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) mold to generate one-dimensional (1D) grating and two-dimensional (2D) crossed line pillar patterns. The redox currents (i(p)) were significantly increased due to the facilitated diffusion of ClO4(-) counterions ...

Organic phototransistors using poly(3-hexylthiophene) nanofibres

Nanotechnology, 2015
Here we report the fabrication of nanofibre-based organic phototransistors (OPTs) using preformed poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) nanofibres. OPT performance is analysed based on two important parameters: photoresponsivity R and photosensitivity P.

Determination of the charge neutrality level of poly(3-hexylthiophene)

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2013
The Al/poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and Ag/P3HT interfaces were investigated using photoemission spectroscopy in combination with in situ thin-film deposition. The P3HT thin films were deposited directly into high vacuum from solution on the two metal substrates using an electrospray system and characterized via photoemission spectroscopy.

Influence of the microstructure on the photooxidative degradation of poly(3-hexylthiophene)

Polymer Degradation and Stability, 2012
The influence of the microstructure of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) on its photodegradation upon exposure to UV-visible light was studied. High-regioregular (>98%) and low-regioregular (

Modulating Crystallinity of Poly(3-hexylthiophene) via Microphase Separation of Poly(3-hexylthiophene)–Polyisoprene Block Copolymers

Macromolecules, 2015
A series of poly(3-hexylthiophene)-block-polyisoprene (P3HT-b-PI) diblock copolymers (DBCP) and polyisoprene-block-poly(3-hexylthiophene)-block-polyisoprene (PI-b-P3HT-b-PI) triblock copolymers (TBCP) with accurately controlled molecular architecture were synthesized via highly efficient coupling reaction between aldehyde end-functionalized P3HT and ...

Fractionated Crystallization of Defect-Free Poly(3-hexylthiophene)

ACS Macro Letters, 2012
Fractionated crystallization (FC), a chain-sorting mechanism by length, is identified in well-defined, low molecular weight, and defect-free regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) by X-ray scattering and calorimetry of bulk samples. While wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) qualitatively suggests that the degree of crystallinity is similar in all ...
