Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Effect of Toll-Like Receptor 3 Agonists on the Functionality and Metastatic Properties of Breast Cancer Cell Model

open access: yesIranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 2013
There exists compelling evidence that Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonists can directly affect human cancer cells. The aim of this study was to investigate anti-cancer effects of TLR3 agonist in human breast cell line.

Development of robust adhesion and water resistance soybean meal-based adhesive with long-lasting anti-mildew via in-situ constructed interpenetrating cross-linked network inspired by marine protein

open access: yesIndustrial Crops and Products
Soy protein-based adhesives are promising alternatives to petroleum-based options for industrial applications, but still face significant challenges such as weak initial adhesion, poor water resistance, limited application range, and susceptibility to ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Effects of a poly(hydroxyalkanoate) elastomer and kraft pulp fibres on biocomposite properties and three-dimensional (3D) printability of filaments for fused deposition modelling

open access: yesJournal of Bioresources and Bioproducts, 2022
Three-dimensional (3D) printing is a useful technique that allows the creation of objects with complex structures by deposition of successive layers of material. These materials are often from fossil origin.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Sequence motifs that distinguish ATP(CTP) : tRNA nucleotidyl transferases from eubacterial poly(A) polymerases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
ATP(CTP):tRNA nucleotidyl transferases, tRNA maturing enzymes found in all organisms, and eubacterial poly(A) polymerases, enzymes involved in mRNA degradation, are so similar that until now their biochemical functions could not be distinguished by their

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Comparative Study of Novel u-Shaped SOI FinFET Against Multiple-Fin Bulk/SOI FinFET

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Superior scalability and better gate-to-channel capacitive coupling can be achieved with adopting gate-all-around (GAA) device architecture. However, compared against FinFET device structure, the GAA device is not very cost-effective.
