Deep mutational scanning of an RRM domain of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae poly(A)-binding protein

open access: yesRNA: A publication of the RNA Society, 2013
The RNA recognition motif (RRM) is the most common eukaryotic RNA-binding domain, with differences in its amino acid sequence affecting binding specificity and affinity.

TGA/FTIR: An Extremely Useful Technique for Studying Polymer Degradation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Thermogravimetric analysis coupled to Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, TGA/FTIR, has been used to probe the degradation of several polymeric systems.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The cap and poly(A) tail function synergistically to regulate mRNA translational efficiency.

open access: yesGenes & Development, 1991
The cap structure and the poly(A) tail are important regulatory determinants in establishing the translational efficiency of a messenger RNA. Although the mechanism by which either determinant functions remains poorly characterized, the interaction ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Insights on the comparative affinity of ribonucleic acids with plant-based beta carboline alkaloid, harmine: Spectroscopic, calorimetric and computational evaluation

open access: yesHeliyon
Small molecules as ligands target multifunctional ribonucleic acids (RNA) for therapeutic engagement. This study explores how the anticancer DNA intercalator harmine interacts various motifs of RNAs, including the single-stranded A-form poly (rA), the ...

Polyimides prepared from 3,5-diamino benzo trifluoride [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
High performance, thermooxidatively stable polyimides are prepared by reacting aromatic diamines with pendant trifluoromethyl groups and dianhydrides in an amide solvent to form a poly(amic acid), followed by cyclizing the poly(amic acid) to form the ...

Poly-Poisson Sigma models and their relational poly-symplectic groupoids

open access: yes, 2017
The main idea of this note is to describe the integration procedure for poly-Poisson structures, that is, to find a poly-symplectic groupoid integrating a poly-Poisson structure, in terms of topological field theories, namely via the path-space ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

The Preparation and Characterization of Poly(lactic Acid)/Poly(ε-caprolactone) Polymer Blends: The Effect of Bisphenol A Diglycidyl Ether Addition as a Compatibilizer

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
The problems created by conventional polymers after their end use have driven research into new biodegradable polymeric materials. PLA is a compostable polymer obtained from renewable sources, but its main drawbacks are its fragility and slow ...
