Hierarchical Morphology of Poly(ether ether ketone) Aerogels

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2019
The phase diagram for the thermoreversible gelation of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) in 4-chlorophenol (4CP) was constructed over broad temperature and concentration ranges, revealing that PEEK is capable of dissolving and forming gels in both 4CP and dichloroacetic acid (DCA) up to a concentration of 25 wt %.

Sulphonated poly(ether ether ketone): synthesis and characterisation

Macromolecular Symposia, 2004
AbstractThe paper describes the sulphonation of commercially available poly(ether ether ketone) PEEK (GATONETM, Gharda Chemicals Limited, India and VICTREX®, ICI Limited, UK) by using concentrated sulphuric acid. The concentration of GATONE in conc. H2SO4 was varied from 4‐10% (w/v) whereas in VICTREX® the concentration was 4% (w/v).

Synthesis and properties of novel random copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone)–poly(ether ketone imide)

Journal of Polymer Research, 2013
Bis[4-(p-phenoxybenzoyl)-1,2-benzenedioyl]-N,N,N',N'-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (BPBDADPE) was prepared by the Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction of diphenyl ether (DPE) with bis(4-chloroformyl-1,2-benzenedioyl)-N,N,N',N'-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (BCBDADPE).

Synthesis and characterization of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone)/poly(ether ether ketone ketone) copolymers containing naphthalene and pendant cyano groups

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2009
Abstract2,6‐Bis(β‐naphthoxy)benzonitrile (BNOBN) was synthesized by reaction of β‐naphthol with 2,6‐difluorobenzonitrile in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) in the presence of KOH and K2CO3. Poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone)(PEKEKK) /poly(ether ether ketone ketone) (PEEKK) copolymers containing naphthalene and pendant cyano groups were obtained by ...

Analysis and characterization of unusual ternary polymer miscibility in poly(ether diphenyl ether ketone), poly(ether ether ketone), and poly(ether imide)

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 2000
A rare case of ternary polymer miscibility has been demonstrated in the mixture (in the glassy amorphous domains) comprising three polymers: polyetherimide (PEI), a new semicrystalline meta-linked poly(ether diphenyl ether ketone) (PFDEKm). and semicrystalline poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK).

Synthesis and properties of novel copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone) and poly(ether ketone ketone ether ketone ketone) containing 1,4‐naphthylene moieties

Polymer Engineering & Science, 2016
A new monomer, 1,4‐bis(4‐phenoxybenzoyl)naphthalene (BPOBN), was conveniently synthesized via a simple synthetic procedure from readily available materials. A series of novel copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone) and poly(ether ketone ketone ether ketone ketone) containing 1,4‐naphthylene moieties were prepared by the Friedel‐Crafts ...

Thermal stability of a novel poly(ether ether Ketone Ketone) (PK99)

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1996
AbstractThe degradation of PK99 was studied by heating the polymer in both isothermal and dynamic conditions under nitrogen flow and in a static air atmosphere. In both environments this polymer's thermal stability exceeded that of PEEK. The dynamic experiments showed that in both nitrogen and air atmospheres the polymer degraded in two stages with ...

Thermal properties of melt‐blended poly(ether ether ketone) and poly(ether imide)

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1999
The thermal properties of blends of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and poly(ether imide) (PEI) prepared by screw extrusion were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. From the thermal analysis of amorphous PEEK–PEI blends which were obtained by quenching in liquid nitrogen, a single glass transition temperature (Tg) and negative excess ...
