Poly I:C/Poly-L-Lysine: Potent Inducer of Interferons in Primates
Journal of Interferon Research, 1981A soluble complex of poly I:C and poly-L-lysine (poly I:C/poly-L-lysine) has been prepared that induces high titers of circulating interferon in monkeys. By limiting the molar ratio of lysine to nucleotide to 0.5, a complex was formed that was soluble up to 2.0 mg poly I:C/ml of phosphate-buffered saline.

Reduced-HMGB1 suppresses poly(I:C)-induced inflammation in keratinocytes
Journal of Dermatological Science, 2018High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is a nuclear protein that stabilizes DNA and facilitates gene transcription. Additionally, cell stress or death induces the release of HMGB1 outside the cell membrane, where HMGB1 functions as an alarmin, causing an inflammatory response in combination with other cytokines, damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs),

Polycationic modified polypeptides enhancing poly I:C induced viral resistance
Experientia, 1975Polycationic modified derivatives of polyglutamic acid are at least as good enhancers of poly I:C induced viral resistance in various cell cultures as are DEAE-dextran or poly-L-lysine.

Neuropharmacology, 2012
The neurodevelopmental hypothesis of schizophrenia has been highly influential in shaping our current thinking about modeling the disease in animals. Based on the findings provided by human epidemiological studies, a great deal of recent interest has been centered upon the establishment of neurodevelopmental rodent models in which the basic ...

Poly I:C induces development of diabetes mellitus in BB rat
Diabetes, 1992Polyinosinic polycytidilic acid (poly I:C), an inducer of α-interferon, accelerates the development of diabetes in diabetes-prone (DP) BioBreeding (BB) rats. This study investigates the effect of administering poly I:C to a diabetes-resistant (DR) strain of BB rats. We compared the incidence of diabetes, the degree of insulitis, the number of NK cells,

Proteomic analysis of hemolymph from poly(I:C)-stimulated Crassostrea gigas
Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2016Synthetic double stranded RNA (Poly(I:C)) injection of Crassostrea gigas results in a systemic antiviral response involving many evolutionary conserved antiviral effectors (ISGs). Compared to mammals, the timing of C. gigas ISG expression to viral or poly(I:C) injection is delayed (>12 h p.i.). It could be interpreted that a cytokine is responsible for

Phase I Trial with the Interferon Inducer Poly I:C/Poly-L-Lysine (Poly ICL)
Journal of Interferon Research, 1983Poly I:C/poly-L-lysine (poly ICL) was previously shown to be a potent inducer of interferon (IFN) production in nonhuman primates. In this limited trial in five patients with advanced cancer, poly ICL stimulated primarily leukocyte interferon (IFN-α) with peak titers of 40 to 160 units/ml, usually at 24 hours after poly ICL administration.

TLR3: Interferon induction by double-stranded RNA including poly(I:C)☆
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2008Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) recognizes viral double-stranded RNA and its synthetic analog polyriboinosinic:polyribocytidylic acid (poly(I:C)) and induces type I interferon (IFN), inflammatory cytokine/chemokine production and dendritic cell (DC) maturation via the adaptor protein TICAM-1 (also called TRIF). TLR3 is expressed both intracellularly and on
