Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Viscoelastic Properties of Polyacrylamide Nanocomposite Hydrogels Prepared in Electrolyte Media: Effect of Gelant Volume [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Science and Technology, 2016
In this work, nanocomposite (NC) hydrogels based on polyacrylamide/chromium triacetate were prepared at different reaction mixture (gelant) volumes and their crosslinking process and viscoelastic behaviors were studied.

Effect of a friction-reducing additive on the drip irrigation uniformity with sugarcane vinasse

open access: yesAgronomía Colombiana, 2021
Fertigation using vinasse, a high nutrient residue, is a viable form of complementary soil nutrition. However, it represents a dangerous risk of contamination if not properly disposed of.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Nano-Fe3O4 attached to Crosslinked sulfonated polyacrylamide (Cross-PAA-SO3H) as high performance catalyst for the synthesis of thiazoles under ultrasonic irradiations [PDF]

open access: yesNanochemistry Research, 2019
Nano-Fe3O4 attached to Crosslinked sulfonated polyacrylamide (Cross-PAA-SO3H) as a superior catalyst has been utilized for the preparation of 3-alkyl-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-2(3H)-thione derivatives through a three-component reactions of phenacyl bromide ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Urea Delays High-Temperature Crosslinking of Polyacrylamide for In Situ Preparation of an Organic/Inorganic Composite Gel

open access: yesGels
To address the rapid crosslinking reaction and short stability duration of polyacrylamide gel under high salinity and temperature conditions, this paper proposes utilizing urea to delay the nucleophilic substitution crosslinking reaction among ...

Synthesis of polyacrylamide in aqueous solution: solubility

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2012
The synthesis of aqueous polyacrylamide solution was evaluated for its solubility in water. The reactions were performed using the acrylamide monomer, solvent and initiator (K2S2O8), with the system under magnetic stirring and heating (60°C) for 4 hours.
