The heat of fusion of polybutene‐1
Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 1986AbstractThrough x‐ray diffraction, the changes in the unit‐cell parameters of crystal forms I and II of polybutene‐1 were followed from room temperature to the melting point. These data were combined with the results of other measurements to computer the heats and entropies of fusion by use of the Clapeyron equation.

Crystallization and Transformation of Polybutene‐1
Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part B, 2004Abstract The isothermal crystallization and phase II → I transformation of bulk polybutene‐1 at various temperatures have been characterized by x‐ray diffraction. The crystallization rate can be increased or decreased by the addition of various solids, with sodium salicylate and talc, e.g., increasing the rate by >100% and, unexpectedly, decreasing the

Spherulite deformation in polybutene‐1
Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Letters, 1963Abstract : The postulate of spherulite deformation has now been verified by direct microscopic observation. Films of polybutene-1, about 1 mil thickness, (made from samples obtained through the courtesy of Phillips Petroleum Company) were prepared by molding in a laboratory press at 150 C for 15 min at 2,000 psi pressure and then lowering the ...

Deformation of polybutene‐1 spherulites
Journal of Polymer Science Part A-2: Polymer Physics, 1967AbstractThe deformation of fresh and aged polybutene‐1 spherulitic samples has been investigated by microscopic observation, interferometry, studying macroscopic and spherulitic birefringence changes, and study of light‐scattering patterns. The spherulite deformation is not affine, the microscopic deformation ratio being less than the macroscopic ...

Morphology and domain sizes in isotactic polybutene-1 homopolymer (iPB-1) and (butene-1)-ethylene random copolymer (iPB-1/C2) are studied by spin-diffusion time-domain 1H NMR and SAXS experiments. Lamellar thickness is smaller for iPB-1/C2 than for iPB-1

Chain dimension and crystallization temperature affected II-I transition of isotactic polybutene-1
CrysteEngComm, 2022Isotactic polybutene-1 (iPB-1) usually crystallizes into Form II from melt first and then spontaneously transforms into Form I that with outstanding properties.

Modeling of creep and recovery behaviors of isotactic polybutene‐1 melt
Polymer Engineering & ScienceIsotactic polybutene‐1 (iPB‐1) has been widely used in various industrial and construction fields due to its excellent performances such as high‐temperature creep resistance, long‐term internal pressure resistance, and slow crack growth performance ...

AbstractThe effect of polymorphism of isotactic polybutene‐1 (iPB‐1) on the peel behavior of the specific peel system low‐density polyethylene/polybutene‐1 (LDPE/iPB‐1) was investigated using wide‐angle X‐ray scattering, calorimetry, and the T‐peel test.
