Aerobic degradation of polychlorinated biphenyls

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2004
The microbial degradation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) has been extensively studied in recent years. The genetic organization of biphenyl catabolic genes has been elucidated in various groups of microorganisms, their structures have been analyzed with respect to their evolutionary relationships, and new information on mobile elements has become ...

Problems in the Determination of Polychlorinated Biphenyls

International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, 1972
Abstract The presence of aromatic hydrocarbons in pesticide-grade hexanes affects the elution patterns of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides from silicic acid columns. Several batches of silicic acid Silicar® (Mallinckrodt) were contaminated with 0.031–0.163 mcg/g of PCB expressed as Aroclor® 1254.
