The Risk of Polychlorinated Dibenzodioxins in Human Milk
Journal of Human Lactation, 1988Recently, the news media have reported the presence of the carcinogenic compounds commonly called dioxins in human milk. Based on published Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) levels, the amounts of dioxins in human milk are below the level shown to have any toxic effect in test animals, but above the level recommended by the EPA as safe.

Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans in butter from different states in Australia
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2001Nine samples of butter from producers in various states of Australia were analysed for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs). Detectable concentrations of 2,3,7,8-chlorine substituted PCDD/Fs were found in all samples.

CLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, 2014This research has taken care of the determination and documentation of dioxins/furans in the Jordanian kaolin, where several samples were collected from different sites in Jordan varying in their geographical nature and geological ages. The research has proved that all samples are dioxin‐free.

Determination of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans in fly ash
Chromatographia, 1997Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and Dibenzofurans (PCDF) in fly ash samples from coalburning power plants in Greece have been determined by high resolution gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometric detection (HRGC-MS) applying the isotopic dilution technique. Concentrations of PCDFs were 20 to 600 fold higher than for PCDDs.

Present finding of PCDDs and PCDFs in the human food supply suggested that laboratory animals maintained under controlled conditions may also receive unwanted exposure to these compounds from food.

Eighteen teachers from a highly contaminated school and 11 teachers from a control school participated in this study. Total polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) indoor air concentration (six indicator congeners x 5) was beyond 12000 ng/m3 in some rooms of the contaminated school. PCB 28 and PCB 52 were the prevailing congeners.
