EFFECT OF SOLVENT ON EXTRACTION OF POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS AND POLYCHLORINATED DIBENZODIOXINS FROM CHARCOAL

open access: yesJournal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies, 2001
The effect of solvent on the extraction of two polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and five polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) from charcoal is investigated and the variations in recoveries of these analytes are explained. The extraction is performed using chromatographic elution, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) of probe- and bath-type ...

Polychlorinated Dibenzodioxins and Dibenzofurans

open access: yes, 1992
Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDD) and dibenzofurans (PCDF) — often refered to simply as “dioxins” — constitute a group of 210 closely related chemicals. They are mainly formed as byproducts in combustion or heating processes in the presence of substances containing chlorine as well as during the synthesis of chemical compounds structurally based on

Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans in butter from different states in Australia

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Pollution Research, 2001
Nine samples of butter from producers in various states of Australia were analysed for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs). Detectable concentrations of 2,3,7,8-chlorine substituted PCDD/Fs were found in all samples.

Vapor pressures of the polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and the polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs)

Atmospheric Environment, 2003
Abstract A dynamic gas saturation technique was used to measure the solid-phase vapor pressures (pSo) of six polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and seven polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) at 25°C. Three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (phenanthrene, anthracene, and chrysene) were also examined to validate the method.

Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans in PVC pyrolysis

open access: yesPolymer Degradation and Stability, 1998
The tars produced by PVC pyrolysis under different conditions of temperature and oxygen concentration were analysed for PCDDs and PCDFs content. The tar collected after low temperature pyrolysis (500 °C) and in reduced oxygen atmosphere (11.6% O2) had the highest PCDDs/PCDFs content.
