Vapor pressures of the polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and the polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs)

Atmospheric Environment, 2003
Abstract A dynamic gas saturation technique was used to measure the solid-phase vapor pressures (pSo) of six polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and seven polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) at 25°C. Three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (phenanthrene, anthracene, and chrysene) were also examined to validate the method.

Blood levels of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins, polychlorinated dibenzofurans and polychlorinated biphenyls in the general population of a Spanish Mediterranean city

Chemosphere, 1998
Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs), Polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are among the most toxic environmental pollutants. We determined blood levels of these compounds in a population sample of the city of Mataró, Spain. Blood samples were drawn from a randomly selected sample of 198 subjects, of both genders,

Mass balance of polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) in a recycling paper mill

Chemosphere, 1994
Abstract An extensive investigation on the input, formation and fate of PCDD/Fs in a recycling paper mill was carried out. Samples from different stages of the production process were analysed and a PCDD/F mass balance was calculated. The main PCDD/F input in the production process came from the waste paper, the main PCDD/F output resulted from the ...

Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans in sediments from Siskiwit Lake, Isle Royale

Chemosphere, 1985
Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans were found in sediment from Siskiwit Lake on Isle Royale, Lake Superior, a location which can receive only atmospheric inputs. The source of these compounds is the atmospheric transport of dioxins and furans formed by the anthropogenic combustion of domestic and chemical waste.
