Quantum Chemical Investigation of Polychlorinated Dibenzodioxins, Dibenzofurans and Biphenyls [PDF]
All possible polychlorinated aromatic compounds in the classes of dibenzodioxins (PCDDs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and biphenyls (PCBs) were studied by quantum chemical methods of HF/6-311++G(d,p), B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) and MP2/cc-pVTZ. Calculated stabilities and structures of these compounds were compared with available data on their abundance and toxicity.

Pollutants Transformation During the Regeneration Process of Fluid Catalytic Cracking Catalysts
Fluid catalytic cracking is the main pollutant source in crude oil refineries due to spent catalyst regeneration. In this work, flue gas pollutants are monitored and coke deposits are identified. Operando and in situ spectroscopy are developed to explore coke species evolution, coupled with online gas infrared spectroscopy to detect pollutant formation.

Dioxins and PCBs in Meat – Still a Matter of Concern?
Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) summarized as dioxins, as well as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are persistent, bio-accumulative and toxic environmental contaminants. Over 95% of human exposure

Decomposition of two types of electric wires considering the effect of the metal in the production of pollutants [PDF]
Combustion runs at 700 °C in a horizontal laboratory furnace were carried out on two different electric wires (PVC and halogen-free wire). Tests were performed in the presence and in the absence of the metal conductor of the wires.

Does humic acid foliar application affect growth and nutrient status of water-stressed maize? [PDF]
Abstract Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the world's most important crops, but its productivity is at high risk as climate change increases the risk of water stress. Therefore, the development of mitigation strategies to combat water stress in agriculture is fundamental to ensure food security.
