The organization of the connective tissue of the polyclad turbellarian Discocelides langi has been studied using light microscopical, histochemical and electron microscopical techniques. Filamentous components are found in the subepidermal membrane and in the body, especially around muscle cells.

Many species of tropical and subtropical pseudocerotid flatworms are noted for their brilliant colour patterns and conspicuous behaviour and are suitable candidates for the investigation of aposematic colouration. This study gives the first experimental evidence of aposematic colouration in pseudocerotid flatworms.

Notoplana dubia (Schmarda) (Platyhelminthes: Polycladida) from Queensland

The intertidal polyclad Notoplana dubia (Schmarda) (Platyhelminthes) is reported for the first time from Australian coastal waters in Queensland. The significance of morphological differences observed between the Queensland specimens and the original descriptions are discussed as well as relationships with congeners in Australia and southeast Asia.
