Study on the chip shape for micromilling of Polyether-Ether-Ketone
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2023Microscale parts made of Polyether-Ether-Ketone (PEEK) are widely used in biomedical, aerospace, and manufacturing industries. The formation mechanism of the chip and machining quality of PEEK are closely related during the micromilling process. However, they have not been sufficiently studied yet.

High field properties of polyether-ether-ketone
[1991] Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials, 2002The mechanism of electrical conduction in PEEK (polyether-ether-ketone) was studied from the results of DC conduction and thermal pulse current (TPC) measurements. The DC conduction current in PEEK films was measured at various electric fields at room temperature.

The response of polyether ether ketone to one-dimensional shock loading
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2004The behaviour of the polymer polyether ether ketone (PEEK) has been investigated under conditions of one-dimensional shock loading. This has involved measurement of the Hugoniot in terms of stress, shock velocity and particle velocity, and measurements of the lateral stress, which have been used to determine the shear strength, and its variation with ...

Blends of a liquid crystalline polymer with polyether ether ketone
Polymer Engineering & Science, 1992AbstractBlends of Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and a thermotropic liquid crystalline Polymer (LCP) based on paraoxy‐benzoyl and oxy‐biphenylene terepthaloyl units were prepared using a static mixer attached to a single screw extruder at 420°C. Rheological studies indicated an increase in the viscosity of the blends upon the addition of LCP.

Thermal Expansion of Polyether Ether Ketone Bearing Components
Journal of the American Helicopter Society, 2019Carbon fiber–reinforced polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a strong candidate for aerospace bearing cages due to its low density and good mechanical properties. However, there are still concerns regarding its performance at the elevated temperatures seen in aerospace applications.

3D printing of polyether-ether-ketone for biomedical applications
European Polymer Journal, 2019Abstract Despite the rapid progress of several three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies, there exists a critical barrier in-term of processability of high performance materials. Polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) is known for its higher mechanical properties, chemical stability, biological stability and biocompatibility suitable for certain biomedical

The implantation of lumbar interbody fusion (LIF) devices or spinal cages is currently the standard of care for treating chronic back pain that does not respond to conservative therapies. Due to the prevalence of this condition and its significant impact on individuals worldwide, the demand for effective spinal cages continues to surge.
