Fast‐relaxation viscoelastic hydrogel triggers a metabolic shift in macrophages, favoring oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) over glycolysis via vasodilator‐stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) / hypoxia‐inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF1α) signaling meditated mechanotransdution, thereby enhancing their capacity to recruit mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and ...

Two phase aqueous extraction of whey proteins in a polyethylene glycol - arabinogalactan system [PDF]
The whey protein separation potential of aqueous two-phase systems of arabinogalactan [AG] (Lonza FiberAidTM) and polyethylene glycol [PEG], buffered with 10 mmol/g phosphate or citrate buffer, was studied.

A shrinkage‐resistant hydrogel is developed to confer post‐fabrication shape fidelity. The hydrogel, based on recombinant spider silk protein eADF4(C16)‐RGD and collagen‐I, exhibits tunable mechanical properties and shrink‐resistance in the presence of fibroblasts as well as muscle cells.

Self-consistent field predictions for quenched spherical biocompatible triblock copolymer micelles [PDF]
We have used the Scheutjens-Fleer self-consistent field (SF-SCF) method to predict the self-assembly of triblock copolymers with a solvophilic middle block and sufficiently long solvophobic outer blocks. We model copolymers consisting of polyethylene oxide (PEO) as solvophilic block and poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) or poly({\ko}-caprolactone ...

Single-Molecule Observation of Long Jumps in Polymer Adsorption [PDF]
Single-molecule fluorescence imaging of adsorption onto initially-bare surfaces shows that polymer chains need not localize immediately after arrival. In a system optimized to present limited adsorption sites (quartz surface to which polyethylene glycol (PEG) is exposed in aqueous solution at pH = 8.2) we find that some chains diffuse back into bulk ...
