New acylated triterpene saponins from Polygala tenuifolia willd

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2006
Two new acylated presenegenin glycosides E-onjisaponin H (5) and Z-onjisaponin (6) together with seven known saponins were isolated from the roots of Polygala tenuifolia Willd. Compounds 5 and 6 were obtained as a pair of isomers due to trans and cis-p-methoxycinnamoyl.

Complete chloroplast genomes of three Polygala species and indel marker development for identification of authentic polygalae radix (Polygala tenuifolia)

Genes & Genomics
In Korea, only Polygala tenuifolia is registered as Polygalae Radix in the pharmacopoeia, while in China, both P. tenuifolia and P. sibirica are used equally. Accurate identification of herbal medicines is crucial for their safety and efficacy, but commercial products are typically sold in dried form, making morphological distinction difficult ...

Localization and Dynamic Change of Saponin in Vegetative Organs of Polygala tenuifolia

Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, 2009
Abstract Anatomical, histochemical and phytochemical methods were used to investigate the structure, localization and dynamic changes of total saponin and senegenin of vegetative organs in Polygala tenuifolia Willd. Histochemical localization results showed that saponin accumulated mainly in parenchyma cells of vegetative organs.

[Experimental report on cultivated density of Polygala tenuifolia].

Zhong yao cai = Zhongyaocai = Journal of Chinese medicinal materials, 2007
The proper cultivated density of P. tenuifolia was researched to improve cultural practices in producing region. The experiment was determined by the randomized blocks design of three replications. There is significance difference for the yield per mu in different cultivated density. The proper planted density is 20 cm x 3 cm, i. e.

Triterpenoid Saponins with Neuroprotective Effects from the Roots of Polygala tenuifolia

Planta Medica, 2008
The methanol fraction of an ethanolic extract from the roots of Polygala tenuifolia Willd. showed antagonistic action on neurotoxicity induced by glutamate and serum deficiency in PC12 cells. Bioassay-guided fractionation led to the isolation of six new triterpenoid saponins, onjisaponins V - Z, and Vg ( 1 - 6), together with ten known saponins ( 7 ...

[Study on seed determination practice in Polygala tenuifolia].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2008
To control the seed quality market, a study on the seed determination practice in Polygala tenuifolia was carried out.By studying the thousand grain weight moisture content, viability, genuineness, purity and germination percentage, some indices of seeds were fixed to the standards. The seed determination practice in P.

[Studies on the alkaloidal components of Polygala tenuifolia willd].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 1994
1-Carbobutoxy-beta-carboline, N9-formylharman, 1-carboethoxy-beta-carboline, 1-carbomethoxy-beta-carboline, perlolyrine, harman and norharman were isolated from the rhizoma of Polygala lenuifolia. The structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic studies and chemical evidence, 1-carbobutoxy-beta-carboline has not been seported before.

Effect ofPolygala tenuifoliaRoot Extract on Cerebral Ischemia and Reperfusion

The American Journal of Chinese Medicine, 2006
In this study, the effects of Polygala tenuifolia root extract on brain ischemia/reperfusion injury in Mongolian gerbils were investigated. The gerbils were administered ethanol extract of P. tenuifolia and its four sub-fractions orally 2 hours prior to ischemia, and were subjected to a 20-minute no-flow cerebral ischemia in vivo. Thirty minutes and 72

[Fingerprint of Polygala tenuifolia by high performance liquid chromatography].

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 2006
To study and establish the fingerprint of Polygala tenuifolia by RP-HPLC.The fingerprint of P. tenuifolia was built by using Kromasil C18 as column and acetonitrile-0.05% phosphoric acid aqueous in gradient as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0 mL x min(-1), and the detecting wavelength was set at 318 nm. Total 14 batches of P.
