Abstract Background Polyhydramnios, megalencephaly, and symptomatic epilepsy (PMSE) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive mTORopathy caused by biallelic STE20‐related kinase adaptor alpha (STRADA) loss‐of‐function variants. Animal models demonstrate that in utero mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibition can prevent cortical dyslamination ...

This study provides the first MRI‐based normative reference charts for amniotic fluid volume (AFV) and the AFV‐to‐fetal body volume ratio from 16 to 36 weeks' gestation. AFV peaks at 30–31 weeks. These charts offer a reproducible standard for research and complex clinical scenarios.

ART‐conceived monochorionic twin pregnancies are associated with a higher burden of maternal complications compared with spontaneous conception. While fetal and neonatal outcomes did not differ significantly between groups after adjustment for relevant confounders, ART‐conceived pregnancies showed higher point estimates for several adverse outcomes ...

Opening closed inward rectifier potassium channel doors
Inwardly rectifying potassium (KIR) channels are essential regulators of membrane potential in excitable and non‐excitable tissues. Although KIR channels exhibit a biophysical preference for potassium influx due to voltage‐dependent block of outward current by polyamines and Mg2+, under physiological conditions, they predominantly mediate K+ efflux ...

FAM20B Related Skeletal Dysplasia: Expanding the Prenatal Phenotype
FAM20B encodes glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase, a key enzyme in proteoglycan biosynthesis. We report compound heterozygous FAM20B variants causing severe, lethal skeletal dysplasia in three fetuses from two pregnancies. Disrupted glycosaminoglycan chain formation leads to abnormal cartilage and bone development, illustrating the essential role of ...
