Copper(0)-mediated radical polymerisation in a self-generating biphasic system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Herein, we demonstrate the synthesis of well-defined poly(n-alkyl acrylate)s via copper(0)-mediated radical polymerisation in a self-generating biphasic system. During the polymerisation of n-butyl acrylate in DMSO, the polymer phase separates to yield a

Comparing Zwitterionic and PEG Exteriors of Polyelectrolyte Complex Micelles

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
A series of model polyelectrolyte complex micelles (PCMs) was prepared to investigate the consequences of neutral and zwitterionic chemistries and distinct charged cores on the size and stability of nanocarriers.

Simulation of the electrohydrodynamic instability process used in the fabrication of hierarchic and hollow micro/nanostructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This article demonstrates that the electrohydrodynamic patterning process, a novel technique for the manufacturing of micro-and nano-scale structures, also allows the one-step realization of hierarchical structures and hollow structures.

Luminescent and sustainable d10 coinage metal thiolate coordination polymers for high-temperature optical sensing

open access: yesiScience, 2023
Summary: The d10 coinage metal coordination polymers (CPs) are known to display photophysical properties which can be tuned depending on the functionality of the ligand. Three new CPs made of d10 coinage metals and methyl thiosalicylate, [M(o-SPhCO2Me)]n

A detailed study on understanding glycopolymer library and Con A interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Synthetic glycopolymers are important natural oligosaccharides mimics for many biological applications. To develop glycopolymeric drugs and therapeutic agents, factors that control the receptor-ligand interaction need to be investigated.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Generalized Model of Resonant Polymer-Coated Microcantilevers in Viscous Liquid Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Expressions describing the resonant frequency and quality factor of a dynamically driven, polymer-coated microcantilever in a viscous liquid medium have been obtained. These generalized formulas are used to describe the effects the operational medium and

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Unveiling the Role of Key Parameters during Molecular Growth for Optimal Poly(glycerol sebacate) Synthesis

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
Poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) belongs to the hyperbranched polyesters family (HBP), which possesses an extensive variety of applications due to its tunable chemical and mechanical properties, together with its biocompatibility and biodegradability ...
