Properties of Polymer Modified Bitumen after Rubber-Bitumen Interaction

Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2002
This paper describes results from a laboratory investigation into the effects of the interaction between a styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified bitumen and recycled crumb rubber on the mechanical performance of impact absorbing asphalt (IAA), an asphaltic material that has applications as a sports and safety surface.

Utilizing of waste polymer modified bitumen in combination with rejuvenator in high reclaimed asphalt pavement mixtures

, 2020
Rejuvenating agents have been used to restore physical-rheological properties of reclaimed asphalt binder (RAB) and improve cracking resistance of asphalt mixtures containing the reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP).

Determination of polymer content in modified bitumen

Materials and Structures, 2003
Polymer-modified bitumen (PMB) has been increasingly used to enhance pavement performance. Two styrenebutadiene-styrene (SBS) copolymers were mixed with two bitumens by weight of the blend. This paper aims at developing the procedure to determine the proper polymer content to be mixed with bitumen.

Polymer‐modified bitumen of recycled LDPE and maleated bitumen

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2012
AbstractMaleated bitumen was prepared by the reaction of penetration grade bitumen (80/100) with maleic anhydride at 150°C for 2 h under nitrogen atmosphere. The effectiveness of maleation was assessed in bitumen–recycled low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) blends in terms of their softening point and elastic recovery.

Direct Insertion Analysis of Polymer-Modified Bitumen by Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization Ultrahigh-Resolution Mass Spectrometry

, 2021
Bitumen is a highly complex matrix, generally obtained as vacuum residues of the crude oil distillation. This material is majorly used as binder for the construction of asphalt pavement.

Dynamic mechanical behavior of polymer modified bitumen

Materials Research Innovations, 2002
The dynamic mechanical behaviour of bitumen (BIT) modified with styrene/butadiene/styrene block copolymer (SBS)were investigated. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) were performed in the temperature range -80 to 60 oC. The primary viscoelastic functions were determined at the traffic frequency, 5 Hz.

Effect of polymer modifiers on the properties of bitumen

Journal of Elastomers & Plastics, 2013
This article presents an investigation about the polymer-modified bitumens (PMBs) containing styrene–butadiene–styrene (SBS) block copolymers with different structures, linear (SBS-L) and radial (SBS-R), semicrystalline copolymer ethylene–vinyl acetate (EVA), and terpolymer ethylene–butyl acrylate–glycidyl methacrylate, Elvaloy AM and Elvaloy 4170.
