Polymeric Micelles Induced by Interpolymer Complexation

Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2009
AbstractThe self‐assembly of amphiphilic diblock copolymers in block selective solvents is well documented in the scientific literature. It gives rise to micelles in which the insoluble blocks form a core, which is surrounded by a corona that contains the soluble blocks.

Controlling Dimensions of Polymerized Micelles:  Micelle Template versus Reaction Conditions

Langmuir, 2005
The polymerization of elongated micellar structures offers a novel approach to the production of high aspect ratio, water-soluble amphiphilic nanoparticles. Three different surfactants were synthesized consisting of a cationic surfactant of the form (C(X)H(2X+1))trimethylammonium (where X = 14, 16, or 18) and a vinyl-containing counterion, 4 ...

Polymerized micelles with compartments

Current Opinion in Colloid & Interface Science, 2003
Multicompartment micelles with distinct hydrophobic microdomains having different properties have been realized via micellar polymers bearing hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon fragments. In aqueous solution, such polymers can self-organize into coexisting hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon microdomains that selectively solubilize different hydrophobes.

Polymeric micelles for siRNA delivery

Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, 2012
Post-transcriptional gene silencing mechanism using small interfering RNA (siRNA) as a potential therapeutic modality has generated great interest in recent years. However, significant hurdles such as off-target effects, possible immunogenicity, in vivo instability and effective delivery to the cellular and intracellular site of action following ...

Polymerization‐Induced Micelle Gelation

Macromolecular Rapid Communications
ABSTRACTSelf‐assembly of polymer micelles offers a novel pathway to supramolecular structures such as 1D nanowires, yet gelation behavior remains underexplored. We demonstrated a universal copolymerization strategy using acrylic acid and methyl methacrylate to fabricate micellar hydrogels.

Ultrasound-Mediated Polymeric Micelle Drug Delivery

2016
The synthesis of multi-functional nanocarriers and the design of new stimuli-responsive means are equally important for drug delivery. Ultrasound can be used as a remote, non-invasive and controllable trigger for the stimuli-responsive release of nanocarriers. Polymeric micelles are one kind of potential drug nanocarrier.

Core-crosslinked polymeric micelles

Nano today, 2015
Polymeric micelles (PM) are extensively used to improve the delivery of hydrophobic drugs. Many different PM have been designed and evaluated over the years, and some of them have steadily progressed through clinical trials. Increasing evidence suggests, however, that for prolonged circulation times and for efficient EPR-mediated drug targeting to ...
