Polymeric Micelle as Multifunctional Pharmaceutical Carriers
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2014A number of formulations have been developed and reported in literature as a carrier for drug, gene, and diagnostic agents. Amphiphilic block copolymers have achieved increasing attention due to their high stability both in vitro and in vivo and their good biocompatibility. In comparison to other long-circulating nanocarriers, micelles possess a number

Polymeric Micelles Induced by Interpolymer Complexation
Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2009AbstractThe self‐assembly of amphiphilic diblock copolymers in block selective solvents is well documented in the scientific literature. It gives rise to micelles in which the insoluble blocks form a core, which is surrounded by a corona that contains the soluble blocks.

Polymerization in Micelles and Microemulsions
1989While the concentration of emulsifier in the aqueous phase remains above its critical micelle concentration (cmc), monomer solubilized in micelles is necessarily present in emulsion polymerization systems (see Volume 4, Chapter 11), although the amount of this monomer is only significant in comparison with the amount in molecular solution in the ...

Polymeric micelles as carriers of diagnostic agents
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 1999This review deals with diagnostic applications of polymeric micelles composed of amphiphilic block-copolymers. In aqueous solutions these polymers spontaneously form particles with diameter 20-100 nm. A variety of diagnostic moieties can be incorporated covalently or non-covalently into the particulates with high loads.
