Predictive model of polymer reaction kinetics and coagulation behavior in seeded emulsion co- and ter-polymerizations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
A mathematical model to describe the emulsion polymerization kinetics of co- and ter-polymerizations is developed. The model is based on the classical Smith-Ewart (SE) equations, within the pseudo-homopolymerization approach, with state-of-the-art models for radical entry and desorption.

CircCCNB1 inhibits vasculogenic mimicry by sequestering NF90 to promote miR‐15b‐5p and miR‐7‐1‐3p processing in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

High-temperature creep behaviors of polybutene-1 with different chain microstructure and molecular weight

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2023
The creep resistance of polymer determines the dimensional stability of product under stress. The isotactic polybutene-1 (iPB) with outstanding high-temperature creep resistance and stress-crack resistance is applied widely in the field of hot-water ...

A recoverable versatile photo-polymerization initiator catalyst [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
A photo-polymerization initiator based on an imidazolium and an oxometalate, viz., (BMIm)2(DMIm) PW12O40 (where, BMIm = 1-butyl-3-methylimizodium, DMIm = 3,3'-Dimethyl-1,1'-Diimidazolium) is reported. It polymerizes several industrially important monomers and is recoverable hence can be reused.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Predicting multidimensional distributive properties of hyperbranched polymer resulting from AB2 polymerization with substitution, cyclization and shielding

open access: yes, 2013
A deterministic mathematical model for the polymerization of hyperbranched molecules accounting for substitution, cyclization, and shielding effect has been developed as a system of nonlinear population balances.

High-order WENO scheme for Polymerization-type equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Polymerization of proteins is a biochimical process involved in different diseases. Mathematically, it is generally modeled by aggregation-fragmentation-type equations.

Uni-directional polymerization leading to homochirality in the RNA world

open access: yes, 2005
The differences between uni-directional and bi-directional polymerization are considered. The uni-directional case is discussed in the framework of the RNA world. Similar to earlier models of this type, where polymerization was assumed to proceed in a bi-

Occurrence and a possible mechanism of penetration of natural killer cells into k562 target cells during the cytotoxic interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The cytotoxic interaction between cloned human Natural Killer (NK) cells and K562 target cells was studied using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and conventional fluorescence microscopy.
