Functional Polymers by Post-Polymerization Modification: Concepts, Guidelines, and Applications [PDF]

open access: yes
In modern polymer science a variety of polymerization methods for the direct synthesis of polymers bearing functional groups are known. However, there is still a large number of functional groups that may either completely prevent polymerization or lead ...

Synthesis and application of some Drug-conjugated Poly p-styrene sulphonate for drug release Delivery [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز, 2012
Controlled drug release is one of the most important methods to increase the therapeutic effects and decrease side effects of drug. In this research, three drugs (piperazine, 8-aminoquinoline, N-phenyl piperazine) were attached chemically to the p ...

Vinyl Polymerization. XLVIII. Polymerization of Methylstyrenes and the Effect of Dimethylaniline on their Polymerization [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1961
Abstract 1. Solution polymerizations of styrene, p-methyl-, p-ethyl-, p-tert-butyl-, m-methyl-, 2,4-dimethyl-, 2,5-dimethyl- and 3,4-dimethylstyrene were carried out at 50 and 70°C by ABIN in benzene, and the rates of polymerization and [η]’s of the polymers were determined.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT TO OBTAIN THIN FILM COATINGS ON SOLID SURFACES USING ADMICELLAR POLYMERIZATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties are imparted on solid surfaces to enhance the properties of surfaces. From over a decade several methods have been employed to impart thin film coatings onto surfaces.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...
