Unveiling a Bulk WTaV Multicomponent Alloy With Superior Thermal Properties and Manufacturability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Many tungsten (W)‐based medium and high entropy alloys (HEA) demonstrate superior microstructural stability and enhanced mechanical properties as compared to pure W, effectively rendering them as viable candidate materials for extreme environments such as nuclear fusion, aerospace applications, and so on.

Stability of initial-boundary value problem for quasilinear viscoelastic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
We investigate the stability of the initial-boundary value problem for the quasilinear viscoelastic equation $$\displaylines{ |u_t|^{\rho}u_{tt}-\Delta u_{tt}-\Delta u+\int_0^tg(t-s)\Delta u(s)ds=0, \quad \text{in }\Omega\times(0,+\infty),\cr u=0 ...

Structural and Compositional Effects on the Scintillation Properties of Fast Emitting Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The crystalline structure, the atomic numbers of the constituent elementsand the size of MOF crystals each influence their photoluminescence and scintillation properties in distinct ways. Together, these factors provide valuable guidelines for designing systems with optimized performance and tunable timing characteristics, arising from the synergistic ...

A General Stability for a Modified Type III Thermoelastic Bresse System via the Longitudinal Displacement

open access: yesMathematics
This paper studies a one-dimensional thermoelastic Bresse beam model, in which thermal effects governed by the Green–Naghdi theory of heat conduction are coupled specifically with the longitudinal displacement.

Decay of correlations for slowly mixing flows

open access: yes, 2008
We show that polynomial decay of correlations is prevalent for a class of nonuniformly hyperbolic flows. These flows are the continuous time analogue of a class of nonuniformly hyperbolic diffeomorphisms for which Young proved polynomial decay of ...

Engineering Neuronal Network Connectivity Through Precise and Scalable Electrical Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable all‐electrical method for precise neuronal‐circuit reconfiguration based on high‐density microelectrode arrays. By employing biologically inspired plasticity rules, targeted connectivity changes were successfully induced and quantified across diverse neuronal preparations.

Energy decay of a coupled system involving a biharmonic Schrödinger equation with an internal fractional damping

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this work, we investigate the stabilization problem for coupled biharmonic Schrödinger equations with fractional internal damping. First, we establish that the system is well-posed using the semigroup theory of linear operators. Second, we demonstrate

Uniform Decay of Solutions for a Nonlinear Viscoelastic Wave Equation with Boundary Dissipation

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2012
We consider a nonlinear viscoelastic wave equation , with nonlinear boundary damping in a bounded domain . Under appropriate assumptions imposed on and with certain initial data, we establish the general decay rate of the solution energy which is not ...

Temperature‐Driven Emission Redistribution of Yb2+ in SrB4O7 Enables Highly Sensitive Optical Thermometry Supported by Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel optical thermometer exploits the rare UV emission of Yb2+ ions in a SrB4O7 host, enabling highly sensitive, non‐contact temperature measurements from 80 to 420 K. The applied multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis results in a multiple increase in the resulting temperature sensitivity.
