The role of algebraic solutions in planar polynomial differential systems [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 2007
AbstractWe study a planar polynomial differential system, given by$\dot{x}=P(x,y)$, $\dot{y}=Q(x,y)$. We consider a function$I(x,y)=\exp\!\{h_2(x) A_1(x,y) \diagup A_0(x,y) \}$ $ h_1(x)\prod_{i=1}^{\ell} (y-g_i(x))^{\alpha_i}$, wheregi(x) are algebraic functions of$x$, $A_1(x,y)=\prod_{k=1}^r (y-a_k(x))$, $A_0(x,y)=\prod_{j=1}^s (y-\tilde{g}_j(x ...

Limit cycles for piecewise smooth perturbations of a cubic polynomial differential center

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
In this article, we study the planar cubic polynomial differential system $$\displaylines{ \dot{x}=-yR(x,y)\cr \dot{y}=xR(x,y) }$$ where $R(x,y)=0$ is a conic and $R(0,0)\neq 0$.

Calculation of the deflection of an arched truss with suspended elements depending on the number of panels

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2020
The aim of the work - to propose a scheme and analytical calculation of a statically definable planar truss with a suspended lower belt. Methods. The formula for the dependence of the deflection of the truss under the action of a uniform load on the ...

Bifurcation, chaotic behavior, and traveling wave solutions of the space–time fractional Zakharov–Kuznetsov–Benjamin–Bona–Mahony equation

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The space–time fractional Zakharov–Kuznetsov–Benjamin–Bona–Mahony (ZKBBM) equation is a significant nonlinear model used to illustrate numerous physical phenomena, such as water wave mechanics, fluid flow, marine and coastal science, and control systems.

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Center of planar quintic quasi--homogeneous polynomial differential systems

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems, 2015
The authors describe all planar polynomial systems of degree five which are quasi-homogeneous of type \((i,j)\), where \(i,j\) are coprime numbers satisfying \(6\geq i>j\geq 1\). There are 15 such systems, among them the only system with a (global) center is \[ \dot{x}=-3bxy^2-y^5,\;\dot{y}=by^3+x,\;\;b ...

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Switchable Magnonic Crystals Based on Spin Crossover/CrSBr Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale modeling is employed to investigate the functionality of a light‐controlled, tunable magnonic crystal based on spin‐crossover Fe‐pz molecules integrated with a monolayer of CrSBr. Ab initio simulations confirm that the molecules remain functional on the CrSBr surface, while a semiclassical elastic model demonstrates that light‐induced ...
