Coexistence of algebraic and non-algebraic limit cycles for quintic polynomial differential systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In the work by Gine and Grau [11], a planar differential system of degree nine admitting a nested configuration formed by an algebraic and a non-algebraic limit cycles explicitly given was presented.

Elastomeric 3D‐Printed Microenvironments Enable Nanonewton Force Measurements in Healthy and Diseased Human Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Neuroepithelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present elastomeric three‐dimensional (3D) microstructures fabricated via two‐photon polymerization (2PP) and post‐processed through wet etching, for quantifying nanonewton (nN)‐scale forces applied by healthy and diseased neural cells. The mechanically characterized free‐standing beam architectures enable measurement of traction forces of ...

Qualitative analysis and optical solitons for the (1+1)-dimensional Biswas-Milovic equation with parabolic law and nonlocal nonlinearity

open access: yesResults in Physics
In this paper, the (1+1)-dimensional Biswas-Milovic equation with parabolic law and nonlocal nonlinearity is studied. Firstly, the Biswas-Milovic equation with parabolic law and nonlocal nonlinearity is transformed into ordinary differential equation ...

A Direction‐Aware Piezo‐Transmittance Strain Sensor via Engineered Alignment of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs)

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A direction‐aware piezo‐transmittance strain sensor is realized through the engineered alignment of carbon nanotubes. This anisotropic architecture instantaneously modulates optical transmittance, achieving ultra‐high sensitivity and exceptionally low hysteresis. By effectively eliminating signal crosstalk to precisely decouple multidirectional strains,

Gait Analysis of Pak Biawak: A Necrobot Lizard Built using the Skeleton of an Asian Water Monitor (Varanus Salvator)

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Pak Biawak, a necrobot, embodies an unusual fusion of biology and robotics. Designed to repurpose natural structures after death, it challenges conventional boundaries between nature and engineering. Its movements are precise yet unsettling, raising questions about sustainability, ethics, and the untapped potential of biointegrated machines.

Periodic perturbations of quadratic planar polynomial vector fields

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2002
In this work are studied periodic perturbations, depending on two parameters, of quadratic planar polynomial vector fields having an infinite heteroclinic cycle, which is an unbounded solution joining two saddle points at infinity.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Polynomial first integrals for weight-homogeneous planar polynomial differential systems of weight degree~$4$ [PDF]

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 2016
We classify all of the weight-homogeneous planar polynomial differential systems of weight degree 4 having a polynomial first integral.

Methodology for Modeling Coupled Rigid Multibody Systems Using Unitary Quaternions: The Case of Planar RRR and Spatial PRRS Parallel Robots

open access: yesRobotics
Quaternions are used in various applications, especially in those where it is necessary to model and represent rotational movements, both in the plane and in space, such as in the modeling of the movements of robots and mechanisms.
