A Novel Chitin‐Based Purification System Using GAL1 Fusion Tags: Enhancing Recombinant Protein Production While Retaining Biological Activity

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2025.
A chitin‐based affinity chromatography system using GAL1 as a fusion tag efficiently purifies recombinant proteins while retaining their biological activity, offering a cost‐effective alternative to conventional purification methods. ABSTRACT Efficient and economical purification methods are crucial for the commercial production of recombinant proteins

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme pullulanase from the non‐genetically modified Klebsiella pneumoniae strain AE‐PUL

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract The food enzyme pullulanase (pullulan 6‐α‐glucanohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.41) is produced by Amano Enzymes Inc. with the non‐genetically modified Klebsiella pneumoniae strain AE‐PUL, a known human pathogen. The food enzyme is free from viable cells of the production organism and its DNA.

Synthesis of a Set of Staphylococcus Aureus Capsular Polysaccharide Type 1 Oligosaccharides Carrying Taurine Esters

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 24, April 25, 2025.
Staphylococcus aureus serotype 1 is a highly virulent pathogen and the capsular polysaccharide (CP1) has been shown to play an important role in virulence and be a target for opsonic antibodies. We here describe the synthesis of a set of CP1 oligosaccharides, varying in length and with different taurination patterns. Abstract Staphylococcus aureus is a
