Total Synthesis of Novel Oxylipins: Plasmodiophorols A, C, and Epimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The first total syntheses of plasmodiophorols A and C, recently identified α‐linolenic acid‐derived oxylipins, were achieved from chiral cyclopentafuranone in 12–13 steps. The routes use enzymatic desymmetrization, epimerization, and diastereoselective Grignard addition, providing stereocontrolled access to the natural products and reliable standards ...

Inherited metabolic epilepsies–established diseases, new approaches

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Inherited metabolic epilepsies (IMEs) represent the inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) in which epilepsy is a prevailing component, often determining other neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with the disorder. The different metabolic pathways affected by individual IMEs are the basis of their rarity and heterogeneity.

Analysis of dietary fats intake and lipid profile in Chilean patients with glucose transport type 1 deficiency syndrome: similarities and differences with the reviewed literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
IntroductionGlucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome (GLUT1-DS) is a neurological disorder caused by mutations in the SLC2A1 gene. The main treatment is ketogenic diet therapy (KDT), which changes the brain’s energy substrate from glucose to ketone
