HEMANGIOMAS OF THE PONS

Archives of Neurology And Psychiatry, 1953
TUMORS of the pons are not common. McLean 1 stated: "The slowly growing, relatively infrequent tumors of this region produce a kaleidoscopic wealth of signs which are myriad combinations of nuclear paralyses and projection-tract disturbances, a neurologic delight for diagnosis and neurosurgical despair for therapeusis." The vascular tumors constitute ...

Tumors of the Pons

Neurosurgery Clinics of North America, 1993
Advances in imaging have made possible confident diagnosis of infiltrative pontine gliomas without biopsy. When the diagnosis is in doubt, stereotactic biopsy is the procedure of choice. Surgical intervention is restricted to tumors with a dorsally exophytic component and other rare circumstances.

Mini-PON: disaggregated module-type PON architecture for realizing various PON deployments

Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, 2020
We propose a new optical access network concept named “Mini-PON.” This concept features the separation of passive optical network (PON)-optical line terminal (OLT) functions into micro module-type hardware that offers switch port pluggability and minimal modular software running on a server to literally minimize the space needed for PON deployment ...

The evolution trends of PON and key techniques for NG-PON

2013 9th International Conference on Information, Communications & Signal Processing, 2013
In this paper, the requirements for next generation passive optical network (NG-PON) and evolution trends of PON are analyzed. Based on the analysis of the requirements for NGPON and the characteristics of various potential NG-PON schemes, it is believed that hybrid TDM/WDM PON will be the most promising candidate NG-PON schemes for different ...

QAM-PON and Super PON For Access Distribution Networks

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001
We propose a passive optical network (PON) system based on quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) sub-carrier multiplexing (SCM) of 53 6 MHz 64/256-QAM channels. Sensitivities of -22 dBm and -17.5 dBm are achieved over 51 km of fiber under full duplex and broadcast delivery to 128 nodes for 64 and 256 QAM, respectively.

The Pons

1995
Abstract The pons (pons Varolii) is a large, irregular, transversely oriented mass of gray matter that lies ventral to, and surrounds, the pyramidal tract and is associated with the middle cerebellar peduncles. Because we have already dealt with its macroscopic appearance, we shall not consider this further.
