A study of taxonomy and peculiarities in distribution of the most frequent genus Astacus (Pontastacus) leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823 and its smaller taxons as well as an analysis of the literature data testify to the fact that in nature the areas of distribution with one species of Astacidae are very rare; very often even one water body is inhabited ...

Ectotherms are considered more susceptible to global warming. Variations in ambient temperature are especially alarming as the majority of animals are ectothermic, with temperature seen as a crucial determinant of their ecology, biogeography, behaviour, and physiology.

Determination of Terbium's Oxidative Stress and Antioxidant Responses in Pontastacus leptodactylus
2023Terbiyum (Tb), su ortamında yüksek konsantrasyonlarda bulunduğunda sucul organizmalar için toksik hale gelebilen nadir toprak elementi (NTE)’dir. Tatlı su ekosistemindeki Tb toksisitesinin meydana getirdiği oksidatif stres sonuçlarıyla ilgili hala yeterince çalışmalar mevcut değildir.

ABSTRACTThe crustacean hyperglycaemic hormone (CHH), a pleiotropic neuropeptide, belongs to a family of structurally related peptides, having six cysteine residues in conserved positions forming three disulphide bridges, and regulating several physiological processes in crustaceans and insects.

Study of the testes of mature Pontastacus leptodactylus leptodactylus over 1 year, and particularly during the “resting” season, makes possible the identification of the primary cytological changes occurring at the beginning of the annual spermatogenetic cycle.
