Is CHF triggered by the vapor recoil effect? [PDF]
This paper deals with the triggering mechanism of the boiling crisis, a transition from nucleate to film boiling. We observe the boiling crisis in pool saturated boiling experimentally at nearly critical pressure to take advantage of the slowness of the ...

We report a new thiolate‐reactive α,α‐gem‐dibromo lactam warhead that activates transcription factor Nrf2 and demonstrates anti‐inflammatory activities, which have implications in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular diseases. RNA‐seq illuminated detailed transcriptional profiles, and chemical reactions with cysteine‐containing compounds ...

Pool Boiling of Novec-649 on Inclined Microchannel
Significant amounts of heat flow can be removed with small temperature differences by boiling. This process is used in a variety of industries, e.g., cooling electronics, digital circuits, power sources, etc.

A study of nucleate boiling and critical heat flux with EHD enhancement [PDF]
The paper describes results from an experimental and theoretical study of the effect of an electric field on nucleate boiling and the critical heat flux (CHF) in pool boiling of R123 at atmospheric pressure on a horizontal wall with a smooth surface. Two

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Pool Boiling in an Accelerating System [PDF]
A study is reported of the influence of system acceleration (1 to 21 g) on pool boiling heat transfer using distilled water at approximately atmospheric pressure. The acceleration of the system is such that the resulting force field is normal to the heating surface, thereby increasing the buoyant forces acting on the vapor bubbles.

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.
