Co-evolution of density and topology in a simple model of city formation

open access: yes, 2008
We study the influence that population density and the road network have on each others' growth and evolution. We use a simple model of formation and evolution of city roads which reproduces the most important empirical features of street networks in ...

Population Density

open access: yes
This chapter will review in detail the behavior of the population density in Mexico from 1990 to 2020. The Time Series Graph of this factor will be decom- ´ posed into the Trend T(t), Seasonal S(t), Cyclical C(t), and Irregular I(t) components. From the graphical results, we will analyze and obtain will get a method to calculate the population density ...

Anthropogenic induced changes in nesting densities of the dune-specialised digger wasp Bembix rostrata (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2005
Data on nesting densities of Bembix rostrata, a digger wasp inhabiting dynamic coastal dunes, were used to document the detrimental effects of trampling by cattle and vacationers.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Türkiye'de Elektrik Tüketimi ve Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki İlişkinin Bölgesel Analizi

open access: yesEkonomi, Politika & Finans Araştırmaları Dergisi

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Multi-scaling mix and non-universality between population and facility density

open access: yes, 2012
The distribution of facilities is closely related to our social economic activities. Recent studies have reported a scaling relation between population and facility density with the exponent depending on the type of facility.

Regional Determinants of Energy Efficiency: Residential Energy Demand in Japan

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Controlling the rapid growth of residential energy demand and enhancing energy efficiency are key policy issues in Japan. Thus, this study aims to estimate a residential energy demand function by conducting a stochastic frontier analysis and analyze the ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
